Federal Skilled Trades Program is for skilled workers who want to become a Canadian permanent resident based on being qualified in a skilled trade.
For an applicant to be eligible, the following requirements must be satisfied:
- Length of work experience
- Language skills (English and/or French ability and proficiency)
- Level of education
Prospective applicants must meet the eligible minimum requirements for this program. Should a prospective applicant meet all the minimum requirements.
A further assessment is then made on the application based on:
- Age
- Education
- Work Experience
- Valid Job Offer
- English And/Or French language skills
- Adaptability (ease of settling in Canada)
These factors are part of a 100-point system used to assess eligibility for the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Prospect applicants earn points for how well they perform on each of the 6 factors.
The current pass mark is 67 points.
